The Science and Medicine Special Interest Group of the American Society for Indexing (Sci/Med SIG) was founded to promote excellence in indexing and to promote the professional advancement of its members.
Through meetings, publications, and Internet resources, Sci/Med SIG offers its members a forum for professional development, continuing education, and problem solving on issues related to the indexing of scientific and medical materials.
The Sci/Med SIG, through special publications and by member participation at seminars and conferences, encourages a cooperative dialog between clients and indexers, as well as an awareness of the importance of excellence in indexing.
